Plant Communication and Plant Consciousness
Much as modern life can often leave us feeling separate from nature, this sense of separation couldn’t really be further from who we really are. When we live in harmony with nature, when we listen to the whispers on the wind and the inspiration of the trees and plants around us, life opens up in a completely different way. When we step into our connection with nature we step into our connection with ourselves at a deeper level.
This is one of the reasons why exploring plant consciousness and plant communication is so interesting and important right now. Trees and plants have a wisdom of their own, which you can often feel when you spend time out in nature, and this wisdom from nature, this understanding of how interconnected everything is, is an important counterpoint to the way that we are living life as a society at the moment.
Learning from Other Worlds Workshop
So the Learning from Other Worlds workshop was put together by Tigrilla Gardenia of Damanhur and Jess Lewis of Gathering of Minds to explore the field of plant communication and plant consciousness and how we can deepen that connection with nature.
It was held on the 28th January at the Brady Arts Centre in London and was a wonderful chance to learn from one of the leading experts on the Music of the Plants devices and plant communication.
The event featured talks from:
Tigrilla Gardenia – Interspecies Researcher and Ambassador of the Damanhur spiritual eco-community.
Mary Daniels – Hay House Author and award winning Wild Woman.
Alexandra Wenman – multidimensional plant communicator and holistic therapist.
There were also two amazing plant/ human concerts featuring the award winning composer Tim Wheater and pianist Gilly Bean. The interaction between Gilly Bean and one of the plants connected to the Music of Plants device was probably the most moving and heart opening part of the workshop. Much like two human musicians playing together, Gilly and the plant interacted and played off each other beautifully.

Crystal Herbs – Flowers Essences & Music of the Plants
When I first saw one of the Music of the Plants devices in action at one of the BFVEA Gatherings I felt a deep sense of how beautifully the concept fitted in with our work with Flower & Vibrational Essences. Flower & Vibrational essences are a gift of nature, using the beautiful natural vibrational frequencies of a flower, gem or crystal to make an essence. The Music of the Plants devices felt like a beautiful way of communicating in a very practical way with the flowers and trees in nature, many of whcih we use to make our essences.
So we had a standing invite as a U.K. distributor of the Music of the Plants devices and took the Devices and a selection of our Flower, Gem & Crystal Essences along for the day. On the stand we had our little Cyclamen plant, who was already a seasoned public performer from singing with the device at the Plant Consciousness conference, and she put on a good little concert of her own!
As ever it was lovely to connect with like minded souls and share and exchange ideas, as well as talk about Flower Essences.

The Bamboo Device is all about plant communication and is an instrument that gives voice to plant perception. The Damanhur community in Italy has spent more than forty years researching plant communication and plant consciousness. As part of this research, they created an instrument able to perceive the electromagnetic variations from the surface of plant leaves to the root system and translated them into sound. By deciphering and registering the impulses and interactions of plants, they have developed devices that use a MIDI interface to transform the impedance from a leaf to the root system of a plant into music.
