Why Is It Important To Be Grounded?
A good strong connection with the earth – or good grounding – is an important part of fulfilling our divine potential and functioning fully in the every day world. From this solid foundation we are able to grow and expand our abilities and also to connect more fully with the higher aspects of ourselves.
Becoming More Grounded
If you find yourself easily ‘spacing out’ and becoming ungrounded or you find it difficult to stay focused, it is often a good indication that there are some underlying issues and patterns that need working with; many of us carry patterns from this and previous lives that make being fully grounded feel a painful or difficult prospect, inspite of our best intentions! The Base or Root Chakra is the energy point that relates to grounding, physical survival, connection with the Earth and our relationship with our body; but is also where we will hold many old fears and insecurities related to safety, survival and grounding. All of these issues are the kind of energies which will prevent the Base Chakra from functioning fully and may leave you feeling, at a conscious or unconscious level, that its not safe to be grounded and present in the now. Clearing and releasing these old energies allows you to re-balance the Base Chakra and create stronger energetic foundations for yourself and to become fully grounded in your own energy.
