While we all have our moments of grumbling about the intensity of the energies, when you actually look more closely it is really our own resistance to change that we are feeling as intensity rather than the energies themselves.
The Influence of Taurus and the Wesak Festival
The prevailing planetary influence for a large part of May comes to us from the constellation of Taurus, represented astrologically by the sign of the bull. The earthy, feminine qualities of Taurean energy seek to inspire us ‘to be in the world but not of the world’, to release our attachment to the purely physical and to use the power of our desire nature to help bring heaven to earth. So in the illuminating flow of Taurean energy this month we could well find ourselves involved in a review of material versus spiritual values and how these forces currently play out in our lives both individually and collectively.
Clearly then it is no coincidence that spiritually May is also associated with the forces of enlightenment and the great eastern spiritual master Gautama Buddha. It is said that the Buddha was born, reached enlightenment and died under the influence of the sign of Taurus.
Each year the second great spiritual festival of the year, the Festival of Wesak, the Buddha’s Festival, is celebrated at the full moon when the sun is in Taurus, which this year is on May 4th. At the time of this full moon the Buddha, as the expression of the Wisdom of God, joins forces with the Christ who is the expression of the Love of God, to pour forth the blessings of the second Ray of Love and Wisdom in a ceremony that takes place on the etheric planes over the Wesak Valley in Tibet.
Each year this potent spiritual offering is made available to all of us according to our capacity to absorb and assimilate what is so lovingly poured forth. Did we hear you mutter, ‘oh no, not more energetic intensity to deal with’?!
Energetic Intensity & Resistance
There is no doubt that over the last couple of months our planet and all of us along with it, has been the recipient of some particularly powerful waves of high frequency energies.
We have all been doing our best to integrate, absorb and ground these and although it has not always been a comfortable process, somehow we have all managed to navigate our way through the intensity and mostly we are still smiling! Something we have observed in this process is that while we all have our moments of grumbling about the intensity of the energies, when you actually look more closely it is really our own resistance to change that we are feeling as intensity rather than the energies themselves.
In the energy flow this month we will have a particularly good opportunity to recognise our resistance for what it is, namely a misperception based on a long held misunderstanding about ourselves. Taurean energy particularly brings a focus to quality, value and beauty in life, both material and spiritual. From our observation one of the greatest causes of resistance to inflowing love and light is our collective inability to recognise our own innate value and worth as a being. Undue attachment to things outside of ourselves, especially an overabundance of material possessions or a need for relationships is often driven by this unconscious inability to see ourselves as valuable and worthy of love.
There are many old ‘stories’ attached to this destructive belief, none of which have any place in the new template for life that we are currently co creating, which is why they are now all dissolving with as much speed as we can allow.
So if you find yourself in resistance to the flow of love and light this month take a few moments to look at where you are refusing to recognise yourself as the love that you are and the resistance will dissolve more easily. Here are some beautiful words from Ram Dass to help with this;
Imagine feeling more love from someone than you have ever known. You’re being loved even more than your mother loved you when you were an infant, more than you were ever loved by your father, your child, or your most intimate lover—anyone. This lover doesn’t need anything from you, isn’t looking for personal gratification, and only wants your complete fulfilment. You are loved just for being who you are, just for existing. You don’t have to do anything to earn it. Your shortcomings, your lack of self-esteem, physical perfection, or social and economic success— none of that matters. No one can take this love away from you, and it will always be here. Imagine that being in this love is like relaxing endlessly into a warm bath that surrounds and supports your every movement, so that every thought and feeling is permeated by it. You feel as though you are dissolving into love. This love is actually part of you; it is always flowing through you. It’s like the subatomic texture of the universe, the dark matter that connects everything. When you tune into that flow, you will feel it in your own heart—not your physical heart or your emotional heart, but your spiritual heart, the place you point to in your chest when you say, "I am.”.
